Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Leadership, Development, and Educational Systems at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#115240) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach graduate courses in the College of Education's Department of Leadership, Development, and Educational Systems (LDES), focusing on instructional leadership and on courses within the candidate's field of expertise and those needed by the department. The courses taught will include online instruction. The successful candidate is expected to excel in teaching and mentoring students.

Required Education

A terminal degree in education or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Required Related Experience

Five years of K-12 teaching or administrative experience is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables

Applicants with the following will receive special consideration:

  • Evidence of effective teaching in K-12 or higher education.
  • Current or recent K-12 administrative license.
  • Experience in school or district-level administrative positions.
  • Expertise and experience to teach in other programs within the LDES department.

Administrative Assistant 3 - Engage Office (80%)
