Job Summary/Basic Function
The Print Production Technician leads the technical back-end operations of Blue Print, managing all aspects of print production from file setup and imposition through finishing and delivery. This role operates and maintains digital presses, wide-format printers, bindery, and finishing equipment while ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timely completion of all jobs. The technician also trains and supervises student workers and part-time staff on production tasks and supports overall workflow efficiency. They collaborate with the Printing Manager and Print Services Coordinator to align production with client expectations, troubleshoot technical challenges, and maintain compliance with university standards. Reports to and works directly with the Printing Manager and the Director of Creative and Visual Services.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or formal training in print production preferred.
Required Related Experience
Three years of hands-on experience in a print production environment.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Valid Tennessee drivers license required.
Desirable Related Experience
Experience training or supervising student workers or part-time staff a plus.
Desirable License/Registration/Certification
Digital printing certification
