Job Summary/Basic Function

NOTE: 10-month position, August through May / 37.5 hours per week: Provide short-term mental health counseling and crisis interventions to currently enrolled MTSU students. Provide appropriate referral services for students with mental health needs beyond MTSU Counseling Services' scope of care, followed by brief case management services to ensure continuity of care. Communicate with in-house professional staff/psychiatrists, insurance providers, and/or local care providers as necessary to effect referrals. Coordinate and facilitate counseling and skill-building groups for students. As requested, provide psycho-educational outreach presentations to classes, student groups, and faculty/administrative groups. Serve as a consultant to faculty, departments, and administration as appropriate, and perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

Required Education

Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family counseling.

Required Related Experience

Minimum nine (9) months experience providing direct mental health services to clients in a mental health related agency, hospital, university counseling center, or private practice setting required.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Has applied for licensure in the State of Tennessee as an LPC MHSP, LCSW, LMFT, LSPE HSP, or PhD/PsyD HSP, with the ability to be fully licensed in two years. If licensed in another state, the ability to become licensed in Tennessee within one year.

Desirable Related Experience

Three years of paid experience post licensure as an LPC MHSP, LCSW, LMFT, LSPE HSP, or PhD/PsyD HSP, providing direct mental health services to students in a university/college counseling center strongly preferred.

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

Currently licensed in Tennessee as an LPC MHSP, LCSW, LMFT, LSPE HSP, or PhD/PsyD HSP.

Duties will include but not be limited to: Organize, coordinate and perform administrative office duties to assist the Head Coaches in implementing office procedures and programs for the respective sports programs and their offices. Coordinate and produce written correspondence for the sports programs and their recruiting, travel, roster management; assist the head coaches in planning, organizing, and coordinating daily office activities. Enrollment Coordinator I/II/III

The Enrollment Coordinator (EC) role at MT One Stop supports students from initial enrollment through graduation. The EC I is the entry-level position (Phase 1 of a 3-tier progression) and serves as the primary front-desk contact for students, assisting with general inquiries and transactions across all areas of enrollment management, including admissions, financial aid, records, scheduling, bursar, and academic processes. EC I must assess student needs, identify related issues, and either resolve them directly or refer to EC II for further assistance. This role requires a foundational understanding of MTSU, Board of Trustees, federal guidelines, academic policies, and financial aid processes. EC II/III builds on EC I responsibilities with increased depth and autonomy. These roles engage in early student interactions and yield efforts to improve enrollment and retention, continuing support throughout a student’s academic journey. EC II/III staff provide detailed advising on university, TBR, and federal policies; financial aid options and eligibility; registration processes; and academic procedures. They serve as financial aid counselors, helping students navigate aid applications, verification, appeals, and deferments, and assist with tuition and fee assessments during late registration. Additional duties include processing course registrations, drops/adds, residency determinations, and advising on the consequences of enrollment decisions. EC II/III also participate in recruitment activities (True Blue Tours, Preview Days) and orientation (New to Blue), assisting students with registration waivers, immunization extensions, and more. Occasional night and weekend work is required. All EC levels may be assigned special projects and are expected to maintain a continuous, broad knowledge of enrollment-related policies and procedures.
