Job Summary/Basic Function

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sports Programs, the Coordinator of Sports Programs supports the ongoing development of the Intramural and Club Sports programs while also serving collaboratively in the department of Campus Recreation. The incumbent will focus on the student experience in each respective area of Intramural and Club Sports programs and will work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Sports Programs to facilitate exceptional experiences that intently serve all MTSU students. The Coordinator of Sports programs will lead various aspects of competitive and non-competitive sports activities with a focus on student engagement and contributing to overall student success and wellbeing.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sports Management or related field required.

Required Related Experience

No experience required

Required License/Registration/Certification

CPR certification required

Desirable Related Experience

One year full time experience in a University Campus Recreation Sports Club Program preferred. Master's degree preferred.

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED instructor required or the ability to obtain instructor certification within the first six months of being hired. Must have valid Tennessee driver's license or the ability to obtain a TN driver's license within one month of being hired.

Enrollment Coordinator I/II/III

The Enrollment Coordinator (EC) role at MT One Stop supports students from initial enrollment through graduation. The EC I is the entry-level position (Phase 1 of a 3-tier progression) and serves as the primary front-desk contact for students, assisting with general inquiries and transactions across all areas of enrollment management, including admissions, financial aid, records, scheduling, bursar, and academic processes. EC I must assess student needs, identify related issues, and either resolve them directly or refer to EC II for further assistance. This role requires a foundational understanding of MTSU, Board of Trustees, federal guidelines, academic policies, and financial aid processes. EC II/III builds on EC I responsibilities with increased depth and autonomy. These roles engage in early student interactions and yield efforts to improve enrollment and retention, continuing support throughout a student’s academic journey. EC II/III staff provide detailed advising on university, TBR, and federal policies; financial aid options and eligibility; registration processes; and academic procedures. They serve as financial aid counselors, helping students navigate aid applications, verification, appeals, and deferments, and assist with tuition and fee assessments during late registration. Additional duties include processing course registrations, drops/adds, residency determinations, and advising on the consequences of enrollment decisions. EC II/III also participate in recruitment activities (True Blue Tours, Preview Days) and orientation (New to Blue), assisting students with registration waivers, immunization extensions, and more. Occasional night and weekend work is required. All EC levels may be assigned special projects and are expected to maintain a continuous, broad knowledge of enrollment-related policies and procedures.

Area Coordinator - Housing

The Area Coordinator will manage and perform administrative tasks of assigned residence halls within the department of Housing and Residential Life. Essential duties include: coordinate educational and programmatic efforts for the area; assist with staff selection and supervision; implement housing policies and procedures; verify and maintain required housing records; participate in an on call rotation, and perform other related tasks as assigned. Twelve month contract with a base annual salary plus an on campus apartment valued at $7500.
