Job Summary/Basic Function

Under general supervision of the Head Men's and Women's Track and Cross Country Coach, assist with all aspects of coaching the women's and men's NCAA Division I track programs. Duties include but are not be limited to: day to day coaching of student athletes; individual skill instruction; recruiting athletic and academically sound, competitive student athletes that can compete on the NCAA Division I level; scheduling to enhance championship opportunities; organizing and arranging team travel plans; oversee and promote compliance of NCAA rules among staff, student athletes, and representatives of athletic interest; serve as a positive role model for student athletes; and effectively budget assigned funds. Oversee on and off campus recruiting responsibilities, correspondence with recruits, parents, and coaches and assistance with pre meet preparations to include travel arrangements and player accommodations. Assist in community and public relations, promotion of team within the community, oversight of local practice facilities as well as serving as a positive role model for student athletes. Position will organize and direct any camps and clinics provided by the track program. Work to enhance the image of the university, promote positive community relations and perform other related projects as assigned.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in HHP or related field preferred.

Required Related Experience

Two (2) years experience as a collegiate player and/or coach at the college, high school, or club level required.

Desirable Related Experience

College track experience as an athlete and/or coach on a full or part time basis preferred.

Administrative Assistant 3 - Engage Office (80%)

This is a 30 hour per week, 80%, position with prorated benefits. Serve as administrative assistant for the Engage office. Provide clerical and technical support to the Director and Assistant Director. Create requisitions, process payroll documents for faculty stipends, adjuncts or extra compensation, etc. Process faculty course forms and notify Scheduling to assign sections of AMTE (Engage) attribute; maintain database of faculty interest forms and other faculty participation; send notifications to faculty and students; pull reports on student and faculty involvement and other student progress reports.
