$36,847 - $44,954; commensurate with experience

Job Summary/Basic Function

Assist lead teacher with carrying out the daily activities of the classroom, including leading and engaging children in small and large group activities, assisting with regular routine tasks such as toileting, preparing and assisting with snacks and lunch, and supervising children at all times. Share responsibility with lead teacher to promote children’s development in cognitive, physical, social emotional and self-help skills. Take full responsibility/lead for classroom activities and supervision/oversight when lead teacher's shift ends 1.5 hours each day and in the absence of the lead teacher.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) with 6 or more college credits in early education, child development or related field regarding the health, well-being or development of children and working with families; OR high school diploma/HSE with 6 or more college credits in the field of early childhood or family studies.

Required Related Experience

One year experience working with young children between birth to five years of age and or their families; OR one or more practicum/intern experiences working with children or their families in a home or community based setting/program.

Desirable Related Experience

- Participation in state approved early childhood professional development program such as Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance CDA program
- Participation in training or workshops on best practices and supporting children’s social and emotional development
- One or more years of experience with children and their families from birth to age 5 in home or community-based settings

Desirable License/Registration/Certification

Child Development Associate (CDA) degree or commitment to complete coursework to earn CDA within first three years of employment. Full funding available to pursue this degree.

Middle Tennessee State University is seeking an experienced licensed mental health professional to serve as Associate Director of Counseling Services. Reporting to the Director, the Associate Director provides administrative and clinical leadership to support the daily operations of a university counseling center serving a diverse student population. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and mentor the professional counseling staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation. Provide short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention, including suicide and homicide risk assessment, safety planning, and level-of-care determinations. Serve as the clinical supervisor of record for temporarily licensed clinicians. Manage the Counseling Center in the Director's absence. Respond to campus mental health emergencies; consult with faculty, staff, administrators, and parents. Assist with strategic planning and operational improvements. Develop and deliver outreach and psychoeducational programs. Represent Counseling Services on university committees. Qualified candidates will possess advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership and supervisory skills, experience managing mental health crises, and a commitment to evidence-based, student-centered care. Candidates must hold a master's degree in counseling or social work, or a doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in psychology, and five years of post-licensure clinical counseling experience that includes supervisory and progressive administrative responsibilities. Tennessee licensure and Supervisor of Record eligibility requirements must be met at the time of hire. Experience in a public university counseling center is strongly preferred.
