Job Summary/Basic Function
Serve as a direct report to the Assistant to the President in the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance. Assess reports of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation regarding protected classes; timely conduct and document fair, thorough investigations; assist with identifying the need for supportive measures; and conduct alternative resolutions where appropriate. Serving as a Deputy Title VI/EEO/AA Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the incumbent will play an important role in the University's education, prevention, and response efforts related to gender, sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, veteran status, and other legally protected categories. Assist the Title VI Coordinator/Title IX Coordinator with the development and implementation of training programs for faculty, staff, and students on discrimination, harassment, diversity, and inclusion issues. Assists as needed with the University's Affirmative Action Plan and the hiring review process through the applicant tracking system. Collaborates with other University constituencies that include but are not limited to: University Police, University Counsel, Student Affairs, Faculty, Students, and Administration, for consultation and investigation purposes as necessary. Help foster and maintain a campus environment free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, and violence. Perform other related tasks and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university required.
Required Related Experience
Three (3) years progressively responsible demonstrated experience conducting investigations alleging discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Some knowledge of higher education policies and procedures, etc. preferred.
Desirable Related Experience
Master's degree or law degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Four (4) years of progressively responsible, directly related experience as a Title VI/EEO/AA or Title IX investigator preferred. Prior experience working in a higher education environment preferred.
