Salary

The University will compensate adjuncts at a flat rate of $800 per number of credits (adjusted credit hours) granted toward the faculty load.

Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Middle Tennessee State University invites applications for an adjunct teaching position in dance. Possible classes would include Introduction to Dance (with experience across both traditional in-person and online platforms) and technique courses in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Also, the successful applicant may have the opportunity to participate in choreographic projects within the Department of Theatre and Dance, including the Dance Theatre Company and occasional campus performance experiences. This is a part-time position and does not include benefits.

Required Education

An MFA in choreography or a closely related field is required. A bachelor's degree with two years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of an MFA.

Other Desirables

Applicants with experience in teaching at the college level, an industry background, and agency experience will receive special consideration.

Administrative Assistant 3 - Engage Office (80%)

Provide clerical and technical support to the Director and Assistant Director.
