Job Summary/Basic Function

Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment, the Specialist - Recruitment supports the recruitment and enrollment of prospective students through on-campus recruitment activities, student engagement, and event programming. The Specialist - Recruitment serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students and their families visiting Middle Tennessee State University and represents the University in a professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable manner.

Essential duties include providing information to prospective students and families; assisting with on-campus recruitment events and campus tours; maintaining regular communication with prospective students; supporting recruitment initiatives and special projects; and collaborating with campus partners to provide a positive and seamless prospective student experience. Evening and weekend work is required to support recruitment events and activities.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Required Related Experience

One year of full-time experience in higher education.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Valid driver's license required.

Desirable Related Experience

One year of full-time experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, student services, or a related field is preferred.

Jacobs Chair of Excellence in Accounting within the Department of Accounting at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). The position helps advance the Chair’s mission of promoting leadership in accounting education, professional engagement, student development, and outreach through programs, events, and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating conferences, workshops, meetings, and special events; assisting with marketing and promotional activities; managing social media communications; arranging travel, catering, room reservations, and event logistics; and coordinating the selection and ordering of awards, gifts, promotional items, and memorabilia. The role also maintains records, registrations, rosters, and electronic files; prepares reports and correspondence; and provides administrative support for academic and program initiatives. The position serves as a central point of contact for the Jacobs Chair, working closely with faculty, students, Beta Alpha Psi, professional accounting organizations, industry representatives, government agencies, educational institutions, and other partners. Responsibilities include facilitating communications, coordinating activities among stakeholders, addressing operational issues, and supporting initiatives that increase the visibility and impact of MTSU’s accounting program.
