Job Summary/Basic Function

Answer the main incoming phone lines for Human Resource Services and greet everyone as they enter the reception area. Direct people to the appropriate employees to address their questions or concerns. Perform a variety of complex clerical, administrative, records management, purchasing, and office support duties requiring extensive knowledge of MTSU and Board of Trustees policies, procedures, and practices. Maintain confidential personnel records and correspondence with discretion; coordinate personnel records requests, employee exit interview records, and management of employee files. Support departmental purchasing, billing, and office operations. Execute any related administrative duties to ensure the effective and efficient operation of Human Resource Services.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Required Related Experience

Two years of secretarial/administrative experience required.
Note: An Associate's degree (two years of college coursework) and one year of related experience, or a bachelor's degree may be considered in lieu of work experience.

Desirable Related Experience

Experience in higher education preferred.
