Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant Director - Sports Programs will direct a comprehensive program of activities for intramurals and club sports. Responsibilities include the development, administration, marketing, and daily operations of all intramural, club sports, and extramural sports events. The Assistant Director - Sports Programs is also responsible for all of the training, development, and Human Resource practices of student staff in each program area. The Assistant Director - Sports Programs reports to the Associate Director of Programs and, as needed, administers other activities in the comprehensive recreation program for students, faculty, and staff of Middle Tennessee State University. The Assistant Director -Sports Programs also serves on various committees throughout the MTSU Community.
Required Education
Masters degree in Recreation or related field required.
Required Related Experience
A minimum of 2 years prior experience in university recreation programs whereas 2 years of a graduate assistantship is equivalent to one year experience. Good interpersonal communication and organization skills are essential.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Standard First Aid/CPR/AED
