| The work order system is a critical resource in the Facilities Services Department (FSD). The Work Orders office processes work requests for maintenance activities from individuals all across campus; assists in evaluating the effectiveness of the maintenance activities; and supports operational technologies through collecting accurate data.
Work request processing involves: Communicating with customers both orally and electronically via email; assessing work requests; assigning work orders to various maintenance work units; tracking maintenance activities and progress; inputting and tracking labor and costs. Additionally, this role supports field operations through onsite data entry, verification, and asset documentation. |

| The Assistant Director for Educational Services and School Outreach at the Tennessee Center for the Study and Treatment of Dyslexia at Middle Tennessee State University provides leadership in developing, coordinating, and delivering educational services that support evidence-based literacy instruction and intervention for K–12 students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia.
The position is primarily responsible for designing and delivering professional development for educators across Tennessee in in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats. The Assistant Director for Educational Services and School Outreach collaborates with schools, districts, families, university, and community partners to identify needs and develop responsive training and outreach initiatives. The role also includes coordinating workshops and conferences, consulting with families and school personnel regarding instructional programming and accommodations, and contributing to student evaluation processes through participation on the Clinical Assessment Team.
In addition, the Assistant Director for Educational Services and School Outreach helps supervise graduate assistants in assessment-related activities, supports the Center’s research initiatives, and identifies gaps in professional learning offerings to develop new training modules and resources.
This position requires expertise in evidence-based literacy instruction, assessment, and educational policy related to learning disabilities, along with strong communication, relationship-building, and program evaluation skills. A master’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field is required; a terminal degree (Ed.D., Ph.D.) and/or advanced certification in dyslexia or structured literacy are preferred.
This role is central to advancing the Center’s mission of promoting understanding of dyslexia and removing obstacles to reading and writing for K-12 students with dyslexia. |

| The Assistant Director of Executive Air Transportation/Chief Pilot is responsible for directing all operational aspects of MTSU Executive Air Transportation services to support the transportation needs of the University. Reporting to the Director of Aerospace – Airport Operations, this position ensures strict compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards, manages flight operations, and leads flight crewmembers to include preparation of annual performance evaluations. Oversees executive air transportation aircraft to include piloting, crew scheduling, route planning, and arranging/overseeing trip details and passenger needs. Administers the Executive Air Transportation budget and billing. Arranges for completion of all scheduled/unscheduled aircraft maintenance. Maintains all required FAA and Departmental personnel, training, aircraft, and other records. Promotes the availability of air transportation services to the University community.
Additionally, this role is actively engaged in the MTSU Professional Pilot training program. In close coordination with Flight Training Management, duties include developing and administering practicum experiences in air carrier operations, high-performance aircraft flight labs, and implementing/routinely revising ground and flight training curricula, training materials, and methods/objectives. Teaches aerospace coursework, preparing students to achieve required proficiency. Actively participates in programs promoting recruitment and retention efforts within the MTSU Professional Pilot concentration and supporting activities related to the department’s mission and safety program. | The Player Relations Specialist for On-Campus Recruiting supports the Head Football Coach and the Director of Player Personnel in developing and sustaining a competitive NCAA Division I-A football program that promotes both athletic and academic excellence and operates in full compliance with NCAA regulations.
This position assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of official and unofficial campus visits for prospective student-athletes and their families, serving as a primary point of contact and liaison during campus visits. The Specialist also supports the recruiting process by coordinating initial reviews of prospective student-athletes’ high school transcripts, subject to further review, to assess potential NCAA Eligibility Center clearance and institutional admissibility.
In collaboration with the Director of Player Personnel, assistant coaches, and recruiting staff, the Specialist helps develop and maintain a comprehensive communication strategy for the Head Coach and coaching staff to strengthen relationships with prospective student-athletes and their families and to enhance interest in attending Middle Tennessee State University.
The Player Relations Specialist works closely with the Director of Player Personnel to plan and execute all aspects of official and unofficial visits, including travel logistics, entertainment, and visit activities, while ensuring adherence to NCAA and institutional policies. In coordination with the Chief of Staff and Director of Player Personnel, the Specialist serves as a departmental liaison to the Compliance Office on all recruiting-related matters. |
