Job Summary/Basic Function
Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and testing of emergency generators and elevators on campus. Oversee locating services for the Geographic Information System (GIS), GPS system and data acquisition for the Facilities Services Department. Perform data entry functions related to the mapping of campus wide facility utilities as needed. Perform location of underground utilities related to construction and renovation of facility utilities. Perform journey level work in the area of machinery and assists with construction, maintenance and repair of university facilities and equipment as assigned. Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Education
High School diploma or HSE required.
Required Related Experience
Five years progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following areas: Experience in the repair of maintenance of elevators and/or emergency generators. Underground or utility construction related work with responsibility to read and interpret project plans or blueprints. Using electronic locating devices and or personal computer utilizing specialized software for GIS databases. Experience in the basics of water and/or waste water utility operation, construction and underground utility locates.
Desirable Related Experience
Five years progressively responsible experience as a skilled trades person or maintenance technician, experience using GIS / GPS tracking software, or experience in the repair and maintenance of elevators and/or emergency generators preferred. Prior experience and completion of a trade at journey man level.
Desirable License/Registration/Certification
Valid Tennessee driver's license required.
