Job Summary/Basic Function
The Treasury Operations Analyst supports Middle Tennessee State University’s treasury and revenue operations by performing complex clerical and technical duties related to accounts receivable billings, sales tax compliance support, foreign national tax documentation coordination, and administration of the University’s merchant card (credit/debit) services program. This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Treasury Operations and requires independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and consistent application of University, state, and federal regulations.
The Treasury Operations Analyst serves as a key point of contact for campus departments, external customers, financial institutions, and service providers, ensuring accurate billing, compliant revenue processing, effective payment acceptance, and strong internal controls. Perform other duties and assignments as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or equivalent experience.
Note: Associate’s degree (two years of college coursework) or higher in accounting or related business field may be considered.
Required Related Experience
Two (2) years successful full-time progressively responsible employment experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, and/or reconciliation related position.
Desirable Related Experience
• Experience in higher education, government.
• Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., Banner, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
• Familiarity with sales tax processes and exemption documentation.
• Experience supporting merchant card services or payment processing.
• Experience assisting with foreign national tax documentation or international payment workflows.
