Job Summary/Basic Function
Designs, maintains, documents, and administers the HPC systems level including operating systems, networks, security, and research applications for the Computational and Data Science Ph.D. Program and the Data Science Program including the support of users and facilitating access to external resources beyond campus. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Required Education
B.S. in Computer Science or other technical field.
Required Related Experience
Four years of progressively responsible experience as a programmer or System Administrator OR a master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field with two years of experience. Demonstrable expertise in administering clusters and HPC systems.
Desirable Related Experience
M.S. in Computer Science or other technical field preferred. - prior experience with HPC Linux-based systems preferred - Parallel systems software development (MPI, OpenMP, etc.) preferred - excellent Linux shell scripting skills preferred - knowledge of job queuing software (PBS, LSF, etc.) preferred.
