Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Art and Design at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#122100) at the rank of lecturer for graphic design. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac OS platform, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. In addition, the successful candidate must also exhibit knowledge of contemporary design practice, typographic design, theory, and history.
Required Education
An MFA or MA with a graphic design emphasis or a BFA with a graphic design emphasis and two (2) years of professional or industry experience in the graphic design field gained through full-time employment or freelance work is required by the appointment date. To receive experience credit for full-time, freelance work, applicants must list each project, including the project's length, on their CVs.
Other Desirables
Applicants with two (2) years of teaching experience will receive special consideration.

The link(s) must be active and working at the time of application submission and remain so until the search is complete.
