Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant to the Vice President is responsible for coordinating the administrative duties of the Office of the Vice President for University Advancement and providing administrative support for the MTSU Foundation (Foundation). Essential duties of the job include: organizing, prioritizing, and setting agendas for the Vice President to manage the division's essential functions; keeping agendas and duties on target; and monitoring progress. Represent the Vice President and/or Division at University events or meetings as required. Maintain, manage, and coordinate the Vice President’s calendar, appointments, correspondence, travel, and meetings. Provide administrative support to the Vice President/MTSU Foundation Executive Director and the MTSU Foundation Board of Trustees, including serving as a primary point of contact for State Audit. Coordinate, schedule, and attend meetings and events as appropriate to fulfill the responsibilities of the division/Foundation. Provide ongoing support for the planning and implementation of institutional/Foundation fundraising initiatives, including managing activities of the Foundation Board. Support designated volunteers, prepare/compile volunteer materials, and maintain communications; Develop and maintain accurate records, and serve as a primary contact for audit and/or compliance. Prepare, research, and communicate sensitive/confidential information with approved parties. Prepare reports and complete action item summaries. Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree.
Required Related Experience
Three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative, secretarial, and clerical experience working with complex, confidential information in higher education is required.
Note: An associate’s degree (two years of related college coursework) and five (5) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of the bachelor's degree requirement.

Desirable Related Experience
Prior experience in fundraising/capital campaign support role preferred. Prior experience coordinating logistics of meetings and events preferred.
