Perform a variety of work to include electrical, plumbing masonry, and carpentry in the maintenance, repair, rebuild, and new installation of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites. Work involves installation and repair of water, electrical, sanitary sewage lines and irrigation, exhaust fans, sewer pumps, air compressors, replacement of belts and lubrication, dishwashers, electrical motors, frost free faucets, garbage disposals, grease traps (in cafeterias), lighting fixtures, lighting controls including photocontrols and timers, motor controls, multi-phase exhaust fan motors, power receptacles, and repair and installation of plumbing fixtures. Perform other related maintenance work requiring the operation of skid steer and attachments. Maintain and repair Deionized central water system; install and repair fused chemical piping; install and remove data loggers and check sensors; repair, test and install backflow devices; and repair sensitive scientific equipment to include boilers for environmental chambers, snorkel arms, and fume hoods. Recruiter I Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Recruit students from high schools and community colleges across the state of Tennessee. Counsel prospective students and their parents, represent students and their parents, represent MTSU at high school recruiting events, and serve as liaison with faculty and staff involved in the admissions process. Extensive travel; occasional evening, weekend and extended work hours required. Activities include cultivating and developing relationships with high school counselors, principals, community college counselors, and other persons who influence college enrollment decisions.
Student Accounts Associate Murfreesboro, Tennessee
This position manages student accounts funded by third party sponsors and ensures that all billing, payments, and documentation are accurate and compliant with applicable policies. Responsibilities include reviewing and confirming student eligibility, applying sponsorship funding to accounts based on individual sponsor rules, reconciling accounts and clearing funds, issuing invoices, maintaining records, and coordinating with sponsors, students, and university departments to resolve discrepancies. The role also assists with front desk support during peak periods and helps students understand how sponsorships affect their account and financial aid. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to interpret financial information accurately. Candidates should have basic accounting skills, experience with reconciliation and documentation, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. The ability to troubleshoot errors, work both independently and collaboratively, and manage interactions with sometimes frustrated stakeholders is essential. Familiarity with Banner Student and Banner Finance is preferred. An associate degree or higher is required, preferably in business, accounting, or a related field, along with at least one year of relevant experience in bookkeeping, business operations, accounting, or higher education administration.
Director - Fraternity/Sorority Life Murfreesboro, Tennessee
The Director Fraternity & Sorority Life will work in conjunction with the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life to provide oversight of leadership development and programming for 24 fraternities and sororities associated with National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), Panhellenic Council and North American Interfraternity Conference. The focus is to advise, counsel, and mentor students; facilitate programming in the areas of risk management, membership recruitment/intake and education; problem resolution, and community planning. The Director will coordinate and present educational programs for the entire Greek system and individual chapters; maintain records and prepare reports on fraternity and sorority academic standing, housing occupancy and recruitment statistics; provide oversight for the Greek Row men's fraternity house and liaison with Housing and Residential Life in providing direct support to the sororities housed on Greek Row; and work with Housing and Residential Life in reaching 100% occupancy in all Greek Row houses. The Director serves as liaison between the university and individual chapters, and advisors; reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs; will work in collaboration with designated staff in Development Office to interface with and address concerns of fraternity and sorority alumni, and perform other related special projects as assigned.
