Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow (#367050) in Dr. Hanna Terletska's quantum physics research team. This is a one-year, temporary appointment with the possibility of renewal for an additional year, contingent on performance, continued interest, and funding availability. The start date for the position is as early as January 6, 2025.
We are seeking a qualified scholar with expertise in theoretical and computational condensed matter and materials science, specifically in modeling and simulations of quantum materials with disorder. The ideal candidate will have experience with many-body quantum mechanics and ab initio methods. Experience with quantum Monte Carlo and machine learning techniques is advantageous.
Required Education
A terminal degree in physics, chemistry, material science, quantum information systems, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with experience in many-body simulations, ab initio modeling, and machine learning will receive special consideration
