Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#120170) at the rank of assistant or associate professor in School Psychology. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching:
- Teach graduate courses in the school psychology combined MA/EdS program, which has been NASP approved since 1991 and prepares students for licensure as school psychologists.
- Contribute to the broader department teaching needs at the undergraduate level, including courses such as general psychology, developmental psychology, and introduction to psychological testing.
- Research:
- Develop and maintain an active research program in the field of school psychology.
- Service:
- Participate in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.
- Engage with state and national school psychology organizations.
- Supervision:
- Supervise school psychology graduate students in field placements, including opportunities with Metro Nashville Public Schools, Rutherford County Schools, and Williamson County Schools.

Required Education
A terminal degree in psychology with a concentration/specialization in school psychology from an APA-accredited or NASP-approved/accredited program is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with NCSP or are certification-eligible and those with potential for external funding related to education, training, community engagement, contracts or research will be given special consideration.
