Job Summary/Basic Function
The Literacy Studies Ph.D. Program at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor with expertise in language development, literacy education, or a related field (e.g., special education, multilingual learning, linguistics, educational psychology). The successful candidate joining our interdisciplinary team (https://www.mtsu.edu/programs/literacy-studies-phd/) will be an innovative and collaborative scholar. The start date for the position is August 1, 2024.
A terminal degree in a discipline related to literacy education with at least 18 graduate hours from an accredited college or university is required by the appointment date.
Applicants with evidence of a focused research agenda with the potential to advance the field of literacy education and a strong record of publication and external funding will receive special consideration. In addition, those with experience with graduate-level teaching, dissertation mentorship, different teaching delivery formats (e.g., in-person, online, hybrid), P-12 education, and advanced statistics skills will receive special consideration.
