This position supports the university's financial operations by ensuring accurate processing of various student account activities, refunds, and collections, with a focus on high accuracy and collaboration across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Account Maintenance: Process and verify housing, meal, and other miscellaneous refunds, ensuring proper documentation and adjustments for financial aid or third-party sponsorships. Manage tuition refunds by analyzing eligibility based on withdrawal dates and other criteria, liaising with financial aid, records, and other offices as needed.
2. Collections & Write-Offs: Handle collections, bankruptcy cases, and credit balance cleanup. This includes maintaining bankruptcy records, coordinating with the Attorney General, and ensuring proper notifications and procedures for uncollectable accounts. Work closely with collection agencies to resolve outstanding debts and report payments accurately. Prepare documentation for legal proceedings when necessary.
3. Credit Balance Management: Reconcile overpayments and credit balances on student accounts, process refunds, and work with relevant departments, such as Parking Services, to adjust discrepancies.
4. Pre-Registration and Billing Support: Assist students with registration-related financial inquiries, including verifying payments, printing bills, and handling issues related to academic suspensions or fee problems.
5. Problem Check Handling: Resolve issues with checks that overpay or underpay student accounts by communicating with students or parents, updating records, and notifying the Bursar of pending issues.
6. Customer Service: Respond to student inquiries regarding fees, refund policies, and account adjustments, maintaining clear and helpful communication with students, parents, and various departments on campus. |

Additionally, the position will re-organize and oversee the NCAA Life Skills program for the student athletes and develop programs and speakers to enhance the overall student athlete experience in all physical mental and social aspects of college athletics. |
