Job Summary/Basic Function

This is a 37.5 hour per week/nine-month position (approximately August – May). Coordinate, supervise and assist students and faculty with sourcing, construction, fitting and adaptations of all costume related elements for Theatre and Dance Productions. Establish, enforce, and review safety procedures and practices observed inside of the costume studio and dye studio. Source, procure, inspect, repair, and maintain all specialized equipment in the costume studio and dye studio. Establish and coordinate daily shop schedules, hire and manage all student workers and volunteers during shop hours. Coordinate, manage and assist students in practicum labs working on Theatre and Dance projects including students completing lab requirements. Maintain and schedule use of dressing room spaces. Procure/purchase and maintain inventory of all studio supplies. Coordinate and manage the organization of Theatre and Dance costumes and supplies at off campus storage facility. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Required Education

Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two years of full-time work experience in Theatrical Production may be considered in lieu of the Associates Degree.

Required Related Experience

Two years of costume studio or similar management-related experience or training required.

Desirable Related Experience

One year of costume studio or similar management-related experience or training required.
