Job Summary/Basic Function

Middle Tennessee State University, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#127100) at the rank of assistant/associate professor. Start date for the position is August 1, 2021. Position contingent upon funding.

The BA/BS in Religious Studies at MTSU is a new and growing program seeking applicants who are teacher-scholars with pedagogical competency in theory and method in Religious Studies.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses, contribute to curricular development, engage in substantial program support, and make scholarly contributions to the field of religion.

Required Education

Terminal degree in Religious Studies or closely related field by appointment date.

Other Desirables

Special consideration may be given to applicants whose areas of specialization lie outside of the geography of North America and the traditions of Christianity.
