Job Summary/Basic Function
Middle Tennessee State University's Department of Art and Design is a vibrant, dynamic, student-centered department seeking applicants for a program director for our new BA and MA programs in Art Therapy. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#122310) at the rank of assistant/associate professor. Start date for the position is August 1, 2021. Position contingent upon funding.
We seek candidates who have an Art Therapy training background, including responsibilities related to clinical coordination; the ability to teach a range of undergraduate and graduate Art Therapy courses; potential for scholarly productivity; knowledge of ACATE accreditation standards; and the ability to work collaboratively with program and department faculty as well as members of the Tennessee Art Therapy Association.
As part of a welcoming and collegial faculty, the successful candidate will mentor, advise, and recruit students; contribute to curriculum and program development; engage in university service at entry level and in public service as well; and lead assessment and accreditation activities related to the Art Therapy programs.

Required Education
A terminal degree in Art Therapy or related field
Required License/Registration/Certification
Current registration as ATR-CB from the Art Therapy Credential Board at the time of online application
Other Desirables
Candidates who have experience as a practitioner of Art Therapy in a professional setting may receive special consideration.
