Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Psychology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#120310 ) in Clinical Psychology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will join a department of dedicated faculty who support several popular undergraduate minors, two undergraduate majors, four master's-level graduate majors, and one graduate major at the specialist's-level. Faculty in the clinical area also support the undergraduate mental health services minor, the undergraduate psychology major, and the clinical psychology master’s program. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including both area-specific topics (e.g., psychopathology, cross-cultural clinical practice, professional issues and ethics) and broader departmental needs (e.g., general psychology, personality, biopsychology).
- Mentor students in thesis and capstone projects.
- Develop and maintain an active research program.
- Participate in departmental, university, and community service activities.
Required Education
A terminal degree in clinical psychology or other health services psychology field from an APA accredited training program that also included an APA accredited internship is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with the following will receive special consideration.
- Eligible for licensure in Tennessee as a psychologist with the health services provider designation
- Demonstrated clear interest in clinical training at the master's level
- Demonstrated potential for external funding in research, community engagement, or contracts
