Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Art and Design at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#122300) at the rank of lecturer for graphic design. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2024.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac OS platform, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. In addition, the successful candidate must also exhibit knowledge of contemporary design practice, typographic design, theory, and history.
Required Education
An MFA or MA with a graphic design emphasis or a BFA with a graphic design emphasis and twelve (12) years of professional or industry experience in the graphic design field gained through full-time employment or freelance work by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with two (2) years of teaching experience will receive special consideration.
