Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Music Business at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will include teaching selected in-person and online courses for the music business track at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The in-person courses may be offered on the MTSU campus or at another location. The courses cover music industry topics and legal topics such as copyright law, basic contract law, and other legal issues related to the entertainment industry. Required Education
A doctor of jurisprudence is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with higher education teaching experience in music business or those with law practice experience related to copyright law, entertainment industry contracts, and legal issues in the entertainment industry will receive special consideration.
