Job Summary/Basic Function

The College of Education at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#115240) at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will serve as a faculty member in the Womack Department of Educational Leadership and support the Assessment Learning and Student Success EdD.The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate courses at the masters and doctoral levels and other related courses as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and teach asynchronous online, hybrid, and in person courses.
  • Advise graduate students and serve as dissertation chair or committee member for doctoral students.
  • Maintain an active research and scholarship agenda.
  • Collaborate with college and department faculty and staff.
  • Engage in service to the program, department, college, university, community, and profession.
  • Other responsibilities may include program development and assessment and contributing to a developing research practice partnership with local K12 school districts.

Required Education

A terminal degree in educational leadership, educational policy, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Required Related Experience

At least three (3) years of K-12 teaching or administrative experience is required.

Other Desirables

Applicants with the following will receive special consideration.

  • A valid and current or eligible for an administrative license.
  • Experience serving as a chair or member of dissertation committees.
  • Experience teaching graduate level courses in areas such as instructional coaching, educational policy, leadership studies, or school finance.
  • Evidence of effective online course instruction experience.
  • Experience collaborating with school districts and professional associations both regionally and nationally.
  • Potential for securing external research funding.
