Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Biology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#103020) in Forensic Science at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct independent research and mentor students (undergraduate, MS, and PhD) at a level that will gain national and international recognition. The ability to teach courses in General Biology, Anatomy & Physiology and develop courses in the appointee’s area of expertise is expected. The successful candidate will receive a competitive start-up package and be expected to build and grow an externally funded research program at a level appropriate to mentor master's and doctoral graduate students. Required Education

A terminal degree in biology, forensic science, or a closely related field appropriate for a forensic science program is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables

Applicants with post-doctoral research experience, a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and a level of grant or fellowship funding that reflects high productivity commensurate with the applicant's current career stage will receive special consideration.
