Job Summary/Basic Function
This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2023. The positions are contingent on funding.
The successful candidate will teach sections of dual enrollment history courses at a local high school and additional courses on the MTSU campus as needed to satisfy a full-time teaching workload every year. The sections will be offered as part of the normal high school course schedule. The successful candidate must communicate regularly with the high school administration and the Department Chair at MTSU to coordinate planned course activities with the high school calendar.
Required Education
A PhD in History or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants who possess experience with high-impact teaching practices, including learning communities, Reacting to the Past, experiential learning, integrative learning, supplemental instruction, and co-requisite collaboration, will receive special consideration.
