Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Marketing at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#110200) at the rank of Lecturer as a Dale Carnegie Trainer. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
MTSU is the only U.S. university requiring all of its undergraduate business students to take the Dale Carnegie Course. Since 2015, over 5,600 students have completed the course. The selected candidate will facilitate five sections of the Dale Carnegie Course (BUS 3000) in the Fall semester and five sections in the Spring semester. Most sections are taught in person, but the selected candidate may occasionally teach an online section. The average enrollment per section is 20 participants.
Required Education
A bachelor's degree is required.
Required Related Experience
Applicants must have at least one year of experience as a certified Dale Carnegie Trainer.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Applicants must be certified as a Dale Carnegie Trainer.
Other Desirables
Applicants with a master's degree or who have experience facilitating the Dale Carnegie Course in Human Relations and Communication in an institution of higher education will receive special consideration.
