Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Geosciences at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#125110) at the rank of assistant/associate professor in Geomorphology and Sedimentation/Stratigraphy. The start date for the position is August 1, 2023. The position is contingent upon funding.
The successful applicant will develop an externally funded research program, publish scholarly work, and advise and mentor graduate students in the Geosciences Master’s program. The teaching expectation includes undergraduate and graduate courses such as Introduction to Earth Science, Sedimentation and Stratigraphy, and Geomorphology.
Required Education
A terminal degree in Geosciences or a closely related field is required. ABD will be considered if close to completion, but a doctoral degree must be earned by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Special consideration will be given to applicants whose research portfolios include environmental applications. In addition, applicants with previous college-level teaching and evidence of teaching excellence will receive special consideration.
