Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University has periodic openings for part-time instructors to teach various classes in history, including US History I and II and Tennessee History, among others.

Successful candidates are expected to possess a professional level of skills and knowledge relevant to the class and be able to effectively teach the required material to the students.

Required Education

Instructors must have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in History.

Official transcripts from each degree-granting institution must be provided. If transcripts are from a non-U.S. institution, the prospective faculty member must have the transcripts both translated into English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation organization. Likewise, if selected for an appointment, you will be required to provide letters of PROFESSIONAL recommendation from three sources. The letters should be on letterhead, must be current and specific to the job posting, bear a physical signature, and may not be provided from a general dossier. The letters must be submitted directly to the department chair from the recommenders and cannot be provided by the candidate.
