Job Summary/Basic Function

Middle Tennessee State University's School of Concrete and Construction Management (SCCM) Intelligent Construction Information Modeling (iCIM) Lab invites applicants for a postdoctoral research assistant position (#109110) This is a one-year temporary appointment with possible renewal of an additional year. The start date of the position is as early as August 1, 2022.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Publication record and solid research experience
  • Proficiency in Python or Java programming
  • Familiarity with popular machine learning packages, e.g., PyTorch, Transformers
  • Deep understanding of industry foundation classes (IFC) data structure and relevant experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Motivation to pursue research excellency
  • Ability to collaborate as well as to work independently

Required Education

PhD in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture (or Architectural Engineering), or a closely related field from an accredited institution

Other Desirables

Applicants with prior software development experience and natural language processing (NLP) experience will receive special consideration.
