Job Summary/Basic Function

The Director of Undergraduate Recruitment has responsibility for all duties and activities that support the enrollment of undergraduate students to Middle Tennessee State University, a large complex state institution. The director reports to the AVP for Admissions and Enrollment Services and supervises a diverse staff. Plan and supervise department operations including market/target analysis, oversight of timely and accurate application processing, management of recruitment tools, prospect development including the buying of ACT/SAT scores, and campus visit programs, and large recruitment events both on and off campus. Responsible for meeting the annual undergraduate enrollment goals as established by the university. Select and evaluate professional and support staff; supervise recruitment, training and orientation of new staff. Serve as a direct report to the Associate Vice Provost and perform related special projects as assigned.

Required Education

Master's degree required. Will evaluate degree field to look for evidence of preparation related to educational administration, data analysis and/or planning. Preference may be given to candidates with degrees in the following areas: Computer systems, Business Management, Marketing, Supervision, I.O. Psychology, Education Administration, Higher Education, Education, Social Work or a similarly related field.

Required Related Experience

Five (5) years full time progressively responsible experience in education, student recruitment, university and or secondary school outreach, data analysis, enrollment services, student affairs, and/or retention, with two years of the total five in a supervisory capacity.

Required License/Registration/Certification

Valid drivers license

Desirable Related Experience

Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with high school-to-college recruitment and/or transfer student recruitment.
