Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Art and Design at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for two full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty positions (122130 and 122280) at the rank of Lecturer. These are one year temporary appointments with possible annual renewal for up to three years total. Start date for the appointments is August 1, 2021. Position contingent upon funding.

Candidates must be committed to teaching perceptual, technical and conceptual development in drawing, two-dimensional design, and three-dimensional design. Candidates will be expected to have a record of strong professional accomplishments. Teaching a class in Art Appreciation may be required.

Required Education

An MFA is required.

Other Desirables

Candidates who possess two years full-time teaching experience in Art Foundations beyond graduate assistantships will receive special consideration. In addition, those with degrees that have a studio emphasis, sculpture, or ceramics will receive special consideration.
